  • Mushrooms - Where to Start??
    S SpilledMilk

I keep hearing about mushrooms. A lot of my mom friends hardly drink anymore because they're micro dosing. Super wanting to cut back on alcohol for obvious reasons but also sorta scared about mushrooms? I just want something to take the edge off bc duh. Curious on more peoples experiences

  • Burnt out of life in general
    S SpilledMilk

Yep, been there! For me it's when i've been operating out of my capacity for too long. I have tried to reduce the amount of decisions I make on the daily. Every week we have the same menu for dinner (monday pasta, tuesday tacos etc), I've made the decision to not drink alcohol right now-that way I don't have to weigh the pros and cons and make that decision everyday/at every function. I schedule my workouts so I don't have to make that decision everyday on if i'll workout and where. I do my grocery pick up at the same time every week so it's just part of my routine and i'm not having to figure that out.

You get the idea. Reducing decisions has been so helpful for me. It's insane how many decisions we make every single day

  • Homework always ends in tears…it’s so bad
    S SpilledMilk

    Moving while practicing/studying is brilliant!!

  • Big sister not taking to newborn
    S SpilledMilk

These are probably obvious but give big sister jobs around the house that make her feel special and big. Make sure to give her 1:1 time every single day. She will come around. So hard!!! Mix postpartum emotions in there and your doomed lol but she WILL come around

  • Toddler bedtime advice
    S SpilledMilk

Dude, 3yrs old is so hard. They will grow out of it. Make sure they have eaten a good dinner and are full. Maybe change the bedtime routine and let her help plan the order of things. Also, no screens/blue light before bed, duh. At this age I feel like it's all about control. Give them lots of choices and "jobs" around bedtime. I"m sure someone else has better advice but this is at least a starting point!

  • How much is your housekeeper?
    S SpilledMilk

I've used two separate groups. One group was $165 and the other was $180. 3k sq/ft home. it's expensive and adds up fast but this is my sanity we are talking about and that does not come with a price tag!!!! I'd rather have my house keeper than get my nails done etc

  • Pierced Ears Help
    S SpilledMilk

I didn't allow my daughter to change her earrings for an entire year after they were pierced and I feel like it helped. Also do not touch the earrings/ears!!!! For months do not touch them. And bingo, use high quality earrings. So long, Claires. Get ready to open up that wallet lol the things we do...

  • Pregnancy over 35 HELP!
    S SpilledMilk

I'm sure you've already tried Acupuncture? That helped me dilate before labor. Go to an acupuncturist that specializes in maternal medicine. No promises but worth a shot! If anything it might relieve some stress and give you a glimpse of control.

  • Mourning Being “Done”
    S SpilledMilk

Not nuts. Solidarity, I've been exactly where you are. I actually won't let me husband get a vasectomy even though I know we are done bc then it really means we're done-I know so dumb, but I am who I am.
I'm sure it goes back to biology, but I have no idea.
All that to say, yes that is so real and you are validated. Right there with you.

  • Kindergarten Help!
    S SpilledMilk

    Exciting!! I would say…

    1. a short goodbye and focus on the positive. End with “I’ll see you at the bus stop/car pick” or wherever
    2. the books The Invisible String and The Kissing Hand
    3. have them practice opening their lunchboxes, unpacking their snack etc
    4. shoes without laces unless they can tie their own shoes
    5. leak proof water bottle-truly leak proof
    6. meet the other parents as quickly as possible!

  • Going rate for overnight sitter?
    S SpilledMilk

We’ve always done a flat rate 🤷🏻‍♀️ “can you babysit 3 nights 4 days xyz is our flat rate per day.” The hourly+flat rate overnight would work too. Prob depends on skill level-career nanny vs college girl

  • sleepover
    S SpilledMilk

Ugh hopefully never? I feel like the trend is late overs now for later elementary and middle school

  • Average amount of sex per week??
    S SpilledMilk

I also want to add that my OB told me the average amount of times that a mom has sex before her baby is 6months old is ONE. One time in the first 6 months of postpartum

  • Average amount of sex per week??
    S SpilledMilk

    @Purple-Cat 1000% you’ll never go back

  • Give the good, the bad, and the ugly on Ozempic? I’m really tempted to start but nervous. I have about 20ish lbs to lose to feel comfortable again
    S SpilledMilk

For me, it worked but also made me so sick that I wasn’t functional. A lot of friends have done great on it. I felt horrible and so low energy

  • Average amount of sex per week??
    S SpilledMilk

If it’s twice a week then it’s a GOOD week. Daytime sex only. During lunch, nap time or right after drop off. No one touch me after the sun goes down

  • Appropriate/inappropriate kids attire
    S SpilledMilk

It’s hard. Especially since crops are in style. I’m following for an answer…

  • Family going gluten free…help!
    S SpilledMilk

Our family is going gluten free to support one of my kids health issues. I’ve been putting it off bc it feels like a lot more than I have the mental bandwidth for. Any suggestions, tips, favorite item?

  • 10 pm night terrors / freak outs
    S SpilledMilk

I feel like our pediatrician recommended lightly waking them before they have the terror to reset. So if she typically wakes around 10pm, try waking at 9:45pm. Just lightly rub her back
