I agree that it was the correct verdict. Unfortunately, this is the type of police corruption that happens everyday. She's lucky it turned into a big story for her sake and getting the attention from the media etc.

  • Why does summer give me so much anxiety, especially with work??
    M Mommy-long-legs

Does anyone else get anxiety with summer and all the camp schedules? I feel like the mental load of the different camps each week, different drop offs and pick up times is so overwhelming. On top of that I work full time so managing my work schedule with all of that just makes me want to skip over summer. It makes me feel sad because I truly used to love summer as a kid and don't want to dread it!

  • Help with chlorine green hair
    M Mommy-long-legs

My daughter is a competitive swimmer... we make a baking soda paste (just baking soda and we can add essential oils for smell), and put it in the hair. This helps strip all the chlorine.

    Rinse well then add conditioner.

  • Nice Silverware
    M Mommy-long-legs

My grandmother was a silverware snob... here's the brands she always recommended:
Alessi – Super modern and stylish
Koch & Bergfeld – German brand
Christofle – the fanciest and french!
Robbe & Berking – Top-tier German silverware, this will definitely be pricey!
Oneida – great options more affordable.
    Cutipol – sleek cool styles!

You may also be able to find some of these brands and sets used for a great price at estate sales, ebay, etc.

  • Vaccination
    M Mommy-long-legs

We follow the CDC vaccine schedule and have had no issues. That being said, we don't vaccinate for flu, covid or RSV. I feel safe with the vaccines that have been around and studied for years, but the new ones make me nervous.

We also reschedule any vaccines if we have any sort of sick symptoms, and we do a detox epsom salt bath after all vaccines.

  • Men are from Mars… women are from Venus
    M Mommy-long-legs

I don’t have a for sure answer for you, but, I have found that if I make sure I feel balanced and make myself a priority it helps my sex drive. My Natropath doctor recommended continuing pre natals even post babies, as well as eating 20-30g protein for my hormones at every meal. I also added in Maca and Ashwagandha which I can tell you 10000% helps (husband also takes).

This is so common and relatable, life can be so exhausting with work, kids and balancing quality time!! I think it's important to have the conversation with your husband at a time where everyone is rested, and kids not around and make sure he is aware of how you feel!! We also started having a weekly date night which helped us spending quality time together, and also take the night off of putting kids to bed!!

  • Best way to lose weight and get in shape?!
    M Mommy-long-legs

Of course being strict with your eating, drinking and being consistent with your workouts. I also found that I had to shock my body (not continue doing the workouts my body was used to). I added in heavy weights with not as many reps to challenge my body vs. the lower weight high reps I was doing before. I also stopped running straight for 45 minutes, but instead run intervals (quick 1 min sprint then walk) this helps to burn more fat. Also just give your self grace, naturally it takes longer than a few months to shed 10lbs!!

  • What is a standard night nurse rate? And are there any MUST ASK questions prior to hiring one?

  • What is a standard night nurse rate? And are there any MUST ASK questions prior to hiring one?
    M Mommy-long-legs

http://www.lovemedoula.com - Katie Vinopal is wonderful! She knew what needed to be done without having to be told! Great with babies and easy to have in our house.

    Questions to Ask Before Hiring:

    1. Training and Experience: Where were you trained, and how many families or newborns have you supported?
    2. Certifications: Are you certified in infant CPR?
    3. What is your approach to newborn care and sleep training?
    4. Duties: What specific tasks do you handle during your shift?
    5. AvailabilityReliability: What is your availability, and do you have other clients during my requested dates?
I would also make sure you communicate upfront exactly what you want and promote open communication.
    6. Discuss your expectations, preferred routines, and any specific concerns upfront.
    7. Establish Boundaries: Define the scope of duties, such as whether light household tasks related to the baby are expected.

Hope that helps, and good luck!!!

  • Husbands says I’m not “into” sex enough…
    M Mommy-long-legs

I hear you—you're showing up despite exhaustion, and that’s not nothing. His comment might feel surprising, but it could be an opportunity to talk about what he really means. Does he want more frequency, enthusiasm, or connection?

At the same time, your feelings matter too. If sex feels like another item on the to-do list, it might be time to explore ways to make it more enjoyable for you, not just something you do for him. Maybe that means:

    1. Talking about what you actually enjoy and making sure your needs are met.
    2. Creating space for connection outside of sex (more small moments of touch, compliments, laughter, etc.).
    3. Making sure you're not running on empty—because exhaustion is a major mood killer.
