Help with chlorine green hair

Looking for advice on any good products/shampoos or home remedies for chlorine green hair for my very blonde daughter. We have done the special swim shampoos, tried conditioner before she swims, rinse it right away, etc. She hates a swim cap and we are barely into swimming weather and it’s already mermaid green!

Hi friend! In all of my years of being in the hair industry, what I have found to work best is to get the hair wet with fresh water before entering the chlorinated water. In addition, put some leave in conditioner on the hair and put in a braid. The conditioner doesn’t need to be anything special, or fancy. This will create a barrier and not allow the chlorine to penetrate the hair. (The know you’ve tried the conditioner route, but, try all of it together… fresh water/conditioner/braid)

Haven’t personally tried but heard Malibu C Swimmers Wellness Remedy – is magic in a packet! Mix it with water, slap it on her hair for 5–10 minutes, and it is supposed to strip away that green.
A few home remedies you could try —
Baking Soda Paste – Mix baking soda with a little water, rub it on, wait 5 minutes, rinse.
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse – Mix 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water, pour over her hair after shampooing, and rinse.
Tomato Juice or Ketchup – Coat her hair, cover with a shower cap for 20 minutes then rinse.

what atxhairmama said - wet the hair first really helps...before they get in the pool and pre-condition! After swim, you can also wash the hair in vinegar (don't do it in the where the child sits b/c it can burn your bits) and then wash/condition as you usually do. Once the hair dries, it will not smell like vinegar!

My daughter is a competitive swimmer... we make a baking soda paste (just baking soda and we can add essential oils for smell), and put it in the hair. This helps strip all the chlorine.
Rinse well then add conditioner.
