We are trying to reduce seed oils in our household. Any tips on your favorite brands or foods?

Making things from a scratch is great, but sometimes convenience of something premade is soooo nice. We like Skout bars and gomacro kids for snack bars. Primal Kitchen makes good salad dressings. There are good options out there, you just have to get to know labels! Happy to send more recommendations. I’ve spent the last 8 years getting to know labels!

GREAT question!! We are doing the same. Instagram told me to order on Thrive. I actually typed "seed oil free snacks" into amazon today and some great options came up. I have no idea if they are actually seed oil free, so will update in a few days when everything comes in.

Making stuff at home (albeit time consuming) is the easiest way I’ve found. I make a few things weekly:

          • homemade kolaches since lunch meat is no good for you, I’ll make 8-10 for lunches for the week, source sausage best you can
          • oatmeal clusters (oatmeal, peanut butter, honey, mini chocolate chips all mixed and rolled up)
          • local farmers markets have cool snacks for sure! Make it a weekly staple

          Buy:

          • skout organics bars
          • dried strawberries
          • trail mix
          • anything from thrive market

Get comfy reading labels and grocery visits taking longer. Your kids health is worth it.

Go us!!! Seed oils are evil!!!

We try to keep it simple with less packaged items. Go-to’s: Trail mix, beef jerky, whole fruit, dried fruit, hard boiled eggs, simple jam and butter sandwiches, Patagonia canned mussels and fish (it takes constant exposure but now my kids CRAVE this).

Siete Foods is an amazing brand and is a grain-free brand and also uses avocado oil with their chips. Love all of their products. Thrive market also has some great options. We only use coconut oil, evoo, avocado oil, ghee, beef tallow for all of our baking/cooking. Any time it says seed oils in a recipe, I just swap out with avocado oil. We also try to make most of our foods. This is difficult with us both working and 3 kids, but I try to make ahead and freeze when I can. But we're not perfect. My kids love Dominos and Chik-fila so we try to live by the 80/20 life (lol)! Also primal kitchen has good dressings and Chosen Foods has good mayo. Just Ingredients on Instagram has a ton of swaps!

Siete is also my favorite brand. We love their potato chips, tortilla chips, almond flour tortillas, mexican wedding cookies..its all soo good and they use avocado oil.

A few others I love (most found on Thrive or at Whole Foods)
Barnana Plantain Chips - these always work great as the crust for chicken nuggets
                  Lesser Evil Popcorn
Solely Fruit Jerky- my kids love the mango and pineapple

I am always posting things I try with my kids on my instagram if you need more tips. Also, anything that you make at home that calls for vegetable oil, just replace with EVOO or Avocado Oil. Works like a charm!

Major props to you for trying to avoid these. It is not easy but can make a huge difference in your health! Great job!

I forgot to mention Larabar kids (chocolate chip, brownie, and cinnamon swirl)!

I also had been having the hardest time trying to find a good directory for seed oil-free snacks and foods—so I decided to build one. Still a work in progress, but I hope it helps. You can check it out at Seed Oil-Free Snacks.

Would love to hear your feedback and any suggestions for improvements.
