Is Mufasa the movie kid appropriate?

What’s the deal with a lot of “kid movies” not actually being kid appropriate? Is Mufasa okay for young elementary school age or is it too intense?

I was told from a good friend that it's appropriate for kids but there are some intense parts but nothing that would prevent from taking kids. Sorta vague prob doesn't help that much, sorry!

We felt it was appropriate. Our 5 year old liked all of it and said it wasn’t scary at all.
